Issue #1: Sleep of the Just
officially entering my sandman era!!!
I've actually been meaning to read this way before the show was even announced but I saw just how many issues there were and my brain just went "nope, I'll leave it for later". Now that I've seen the show (and am utterly obsessed with it), I'm more eager to read the series and the first issue is already super intriguing! The art style is really cool and my favorite thing is definitely Morpheus' speech bubbles. The black with the white text really sets him apart from mortals (and I think both James and Tom did an amazing job recreating that feel of an ethereal voice in the audio and tv series respectively). One of the good things about watching the series first is that I'm already invested in the stories and characters (the absolute contempt I feel for Rodrick Burgess for imprisoning Morpheus >:( ), so I'm sure the rest of the series will be just as enjoyable as this first issue (it is also fun comparing the panels to the shots). I really enjoy Neil's writing and I can't wait to finish the series <3
