Inferior discusses the scientific research done to prove or disprove the difference between genders/sexes (depending on the research). It largely focuses on male versus female, although intersex was discussed as well to a small extent (part of this is just the lack of research conducted on people outside of the normal binary).

It was informative and I enjoyed the lay out of the book. It was an easy audiobook to listen to and I felt Saini handled bringing up and discussing different and/or differing perspectives and their own research with a well-balanced eye.

I felt so many emotions reading this book. A lot of anger, disbelief and helplessness - it was great! It’s one of the books I wish more men would read. The sections exploring bias against women in the academy intrigued me greatly as a former medical researcher. The book has forced me to ask questions of the scientific establishment that I’d never thought to ask before. Quite a powerful book!

Really interesting. Saini does a great job of telling the stories behind the science and showing how bias affected what could be known. FYI, there are some very disturbing parts about infanticide and female genital mutilation. I was listening to it on audible so couldn't skip or skim as easily as I could have in a paper book. I really thought the new(et) research on sex differences was fascinating. I find the use of indigenous people as proxies for our evolutionary ancestors to be a colonial perspective and the whole way that Saini wrote about indigenous people was problematic from that standpoint. So interesting to be exposing one set of limiting frames and not be aware of another one.
