@denverrose_author what the heck did you do to me? That ending????? We are fighting! Like you can’t sit with us fighting….

Tara is a strong woman she took her past let it ruin her and then built herself back up stronger.

Marnix ooo you infuriating turd nugget..he is every bit an alphahole and has some daddy issues he needs to let destroy him so he can build himself back up lol

Cohutta you sweet sexy spicy scene of gods man. Im in love with you and i hope you get that ink you mentioned

This book had me hooked from the first chapter. Of course I've loved Tara as a side character in Denver Rose's other books set in the fictional town of Craibridge, but as a main character? Oh man, Tara is just the best! You've got the whole enemies to lovers thing here, well the start of it, there is definitely a way to go on the whole lovers aspect! You've got the gorgeous best friend of the groom and the bodyguard. Then you have the man with the plan, the brilliant man who may just be oblivious to the real snakes in the grass. I'm so glad this is only book 1, there is so much angst and danger, tension, lust and dare I say it? Love! If you love a strong willed, sassy heroine that will not do what her alpha male tells her to do, a woman that fights back, knows her worth, knows what she likes and isn't afraid to grasp it, then this is the book for you!

Give me all the tension, all the angst, all of it. I can't recommend this book highly enough, what with all the most indulgent of the tropes (yea, a marriage of convenience AND a past lover, but they aren't the same man?! Swoon, I'm done for.) I honestly had reservations because how could a forced marriage/marriage of convenience storyline fit with RH? Well, it does. Better than I expected. I suspect it has more than a little to do with the stellar writing of these two. Let this book line jump to the top of your TBR and thank me in about 6 hours.

Great start to the series

Honestly, that very first line pulled me right in. Great job, ladies. That whole prologue was *chefs kiss*. Although, reading the final line of the prologue, we all knew that was not going to be the case. We. Knew.

From the excellent prologue, the book just got better. I had adored Tara as a side character in the other books by this author (you do not need to read the other books, but they were good so why not) to enjoy this novel, other characters are briefly mentioned. Anyway, I adored Tara and this book solidified my love for her. She is sassy, she dishes it as good as she gets it and although she is a very strong woman, she does have her weaknesses and insecurities.

As for the men, I enjoyed her budding relationship with all of them. It was heartbreaking to see how her past affected how she reacts to relationships and different aspects of her life.

The ending of the book made me want to throw this book at a few of the characters. One in particular. And maybe something more solid for another. Such a great way to end it and I cannot wait to see how these events, and a redemption story line, will play out.
