A brilliantly written and researched book that manages to be accessible but also detailed. C. N. Lester creates a welcoming space has an excellent informative voice. I'd be more than happy to read more of their work and I'll definitely be recommending this book to others.

as a trans person it was a little too depressing and a little too didactic for my needs, but i will recommend it to my mom.

Reading Lester’s writing feels like debating passionately with a friend at a coffee shop long past its open hours.
I found myself constantly looking away from the book to think longer on a subject or to think of my own experiences, how they click, how we’re all connected by our experiences. It’s a gorgeous book.
