Listened on Audible.
Wildfire is the 2nd book in the Maple Hill series by Hannah Grace. Following Russ Callaghan and Aurora Roberts after a passionate one night stand after a party the 2 meet again as camp counsellors.

I enjoyed the slight cross over of character from Icebreaker along with new characters. Less smut compared to Icebreaker. I enjoyed this book less but overall still a good book.

Since I haven't seen this book all over BookTok and Bookstagram, I'm assuming it's not as popular as "Icebreaker."

Based on my experience with "Icebreaker," I went into this book with low expectations. I thought it was alright. The characters were flat, and I struggled to connect with either Aurora or Russ. I just found that I didn't really care about them or what they were going through. The plot was fine. I think the pacing was a little slow as I got bored with this book at times. The writing style was okay.

Russ and Aurora are so precious. Their dynamic of the outgoing social girl paired the shy and timid guy was to die for. I loved how they had a similar dynamic with their family and were able to bond and support each other through those moments of vulnerability. Also, Blythe’s sense of humor was hilarious. She had me cackling on more than one occasion. Random but much needed note: Fish and her babies made my heart explode!

Closed Door Mods: Chapter 3 (some parts), Chapter 5 (some parts), Chapter 21, Chapter 22 (some parts), Chapter 24 (some parts), Chapter 28 (some parts), Chapter 32 (some parts)

When I say I breezed through and devoured this book, I really mean it.

Wildfire is such a nice, easy read, and I actually like this book more than the first book in the Maple Hills series (Icebreaker).

One of the things I really like about Wildfire was how relatable the characters felt in this book. I didn’t necessarily got that vibe from them in Icebreaker, but I like how you can see more of the characters’ individual personalities (both from Maple Hills and those at Honey Acres) shine without the constant hype of having them go out to a club or party every single night.

I also thought the relationship between Russ and and Aurora was really well-developed. Both of them had their own sort of “baggage” before they met, and I felt that they both complimented each other as well as enjoying seeing how they can heal and move forward because of their relationship.

Though I felt there were some tiny tweaks needed for the development of some of the side plots, I had no complaints with this book.
