Near the end PINK by Jason Collins dragged for me but overall it was a sweet, sexy read that kept me up late and had me up early to finish.

Jesse was a gem from the beginning. I loved the fact he was a hot pink, out and proud gay man who had a head for business and a soul for fun. He knew what he wanted, who he was and he wasn't ashamed to go after what he desired or be exactly who he was born as.

As for Austin, he was nothing like what you would expect of a rough and tough construction worker. Nothing about him was expected from the beginning. I absolutely loved how he went with the flow as he discovered a new and exciting side to himself. He had no shame and honestly it was a fresh take on the "straight boy" in gay fiction.

Jesse and Austin balanced each other out well. One was flamboyant and the other . . . not so much. But it worked for them and worked really well. I enjoyed how their relationship developed kind of fast. Austin accepted his feelings without much fuss and that paved the way for some honest fun.

Over all, PINK was a wonderful read with fresh characters who were fun to read about.

Let me start by saying that the cover is really bold and sure is a attraction in of its self. But then I got started on the story. These characters hooked me from the beginning. Austin turns out to be totally different that the stereotype construction employee. He is so open minded and his attraction is more than skin deep. Jesse on the other hand is so much more than I expect. He doesn’t seem to have any personality hang ups. He is able to handle situations with such ease I just kept wanting to see what he would do next. The interaction between these two is more than a little hot. The story moves along at a good pace to keep me page turning. I think this is another winner for the author.

I picked this up because the plot appealed, but was pretty disappointed. It just read like a natural skincare guide for construction workers with some gay porn thrown in, no real character development or plot. Austin doesn't have any where near the big bi/gay epiphany expected for a straight, "Georgia country boy," construction foreman. In fact he's more shaken by his miraculous new skincare regimen. There's one bad guy on the construction crew who sneers at gays and moisturizers, but he

Skimmed the last 20% tbh. There was no anticipation, no major conflict needing to be resolved or whatever. Everything was too perfect that it was boring. The beginning was intriguing, but it sputtered out to a flat line by the halfway point.

This story was cute at times. The summary sounded so good but the apparent lack of almost no conflict, with any problem resolved in an easy peasy manner, lost me after a while.

This showed up in my AMZ recs because I read Fem by Seth King last week. This definitely doesn't take itself as seriously. It's gfy adjacent, which I didn't love . . . this rather macho construction manager just, full on * shrug emojis * into a relationship with a flamboyant shopkeeper who sells soaps and fragrances. Not saying it couldn't happen, but it really strained credulity, though it had some cute moments. If it weren't 170 pages, I probably would have DNF'ed.
