Thrilling, interesting and surprisingly educational. Kept me on the edge of each page. Really shows the importance of a logbook. The NSA stuff is really funny now looking back at it with the Snowden leaks.

Although quite old now, this is a great read. Both technically detailed, and well written in the best traditions of crime mystery (a rare combination).

The copy of the book I read is traveling the world(!) Track it here: http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/6557574/

I suppose as time goes on, this book will become more of a historical curiosity, but it still stands as an excellent introduction to some basic ideas of computer security, packaged into a compelling story, and carefully explained so that even the most non-technical reader could enjoy the story. Overall, it remains a favorite of mine.
