Writing was meh, I liked the twist, didn’t see it coming. It’s clear this author doesn’t take covid seriously based on how they wrote about 2020

Slow to start. Plot was not very believable. Too many coincidences and interweaving of characters. For Megan/Renee to befriend Kelly, for Mike to follow Kelly to DC, for Nathan to impregnate Elizabeth... The ending was convoluted and too interwoven to be believable.

[2023 BEACH BOOK 2]
this is another book that shouldn’t technically be on my beach books list because I started it before vacation but I finished it on vacation so I’m going to count it. this just didn’t work for me. the book was set during the pandemic which already isn’t my favorite (also I feel like the author just included that to isolate the characters but then just ignored the pandemic when convenient) and I just really did not click with the main character. the setting of a big mansion in rural northern virginia was really fun but it couldn’t save the rest of the book. ALSO do NOT read the blurb/synopsis before reading this book it has major spoilers!
