2.5 stars.  I disliked the martyred main character, and the resolution of the mystery was a bit ridiculous.

Julia Snowden gave up her big job in NYC to return to Busman Harbor, ME when her sister Livvie calls and begs for help reviving the family clam bake business. The clambake is held on Morrow Island which has been in Julia's family for 130 years. Julia invests all her money in the clam back and restructures the loan with the bank. Built into the business plan is a 5 day allotment to be closed. After a member of wedding party is found dead on Morrow Island, Julia's clam bake is shut down. To make matters worse, a fire closes them for even more time. Julia, with the prodding of restaurant owner, Gus decides that in order to save her family business she must take matters in to her own hands and bring the killer to justice.

The book was wonderfully written and gives a good look into the Maine life everyone dreams of. I can't wait for the next installment!

I wanted to like this way more than I did.

We get it. She works in venture capital. It’s like this book was written for people with short-term memory loss with the way things were constantly reiterated. Also the fact that rohypnol was misspelled repeatedly throughout the book, in addition to other typos astounds me. Poorly done. The only saving grace was the Maine setting.
