this was a really good book.i loved the small town aspect of it,the mmcs daughter, and the scandal.but the third act breakup and miscommunication from our mmc REALLY knocked down my rating.

this book was pretty good overall. the writing was good and the character development was good.

i was on the fence about lydia...i didn't understand why should would continue with a job that so thoroughly compromised her ethics and morals. in the end, she redeemed herself thankfully. she's pretty strong, probably because of her upbringing she had to be. she interacted well with maddie better than expected considering the rocky start to the book.

cam is an overall good guy...hard working single dad, in a big loving family. he's surprisingly not too bitter in life considering what he's been through. he has a great relationship with his daughter and is great with her.

the chemistry between cam and lydia is strong and their interactions are pretty intense.

most of the secondary characters were great and help pave the way for the rest of the series.

i didn't like the abrupt ending of the book - it was literally like the author just ran out of steam and quit. the rest of the book was pretty well developed and bam, done.

i would read the next book in the series for sure though.

So far there’s been a lot of sexual focus on appearance, which makes me nervous about their relationship when at the same time he’s calling her a shrew.

I love a serious read but now and then I need something light and refreshing. Capturing You was that for me last weekend! I started to read it during breakfast and I finished it just after lunch!
It’s a book with heart that doesn’t take itself too seriously and that’s one of the reason’s I enjoyed it so much!
I also actually liked Maddie, Cam’s 10 year old daughter. Honestly I often find dialogue weak when it comes it kids in books like these, they always seem 5 years younger than their age and that drives me nuts! Maddie seemed legit as a 10 year old and I appreciated that more than I ever realized I would!

I saw the characters in this book so clearly in my mind and that includes the town of Maple Grove!

If you’re looking for something deep and thought provoking, this isn’t the book you’re looking for. Although… I did find Lydia’s story quite emotional, the first page alone gripped me!
