I wasn’t sure I would like this book, and a first I really didn’t. I loved the rest of the series though, so I stuck it out and I’m delightfully glad I did. My one complaint is that I don’t think the author really know how to write a submissive man and dominant woman so the learning curve from start to end of this book was noticeable. Beau being a brat helped cover his dominant, toxic masculinity based, tendencies, but for the first 50 pages of the book I hate how Beau interacted with Maggie. He definitely grows into his submission, but sometimes I just felt like the author didn’t know how to write Beau as submissive. My least favorite scenes in the book are the ones where the couple switched, making Beau dom.

“Good boy,” she replies, and I never thought I’d like to hear those words so much, but I swear my legs almost give out under me. (Location 1556, page unavailable)

The sex and domination is this is so hot, it just takes a while to get there. Lots of tease and denial, which is oh so deliciously fun. Probs the best and most compassionate brat tamer content I’ve read.  Beau probably has the most growth of any book character I’ve seen, Maggie would also be top ten in growth on that list.
