It took a long time for this book to make sense. It's not the type you want to DNF before its time.

That being said, I didn't love the characters as much as I did in The Flatshare, didn't connect with any one character and I didn't even understand the appeal of Joseph till the last three chapters of the book. None of the romances were compelling to me, and I didn't really understand why anyone was dating each other. It was a long time before I felt like I was actually enjoying reading it.

It was all a bit too heterosexual for me tbh. I don't want to compare it to The Flatshare, but I liked how The Flatshare was just about people; The No-Show is about cis women and the cis man that they want to have sex with.

I wouldn't recommend this book, I would just tell them the plot tbh.

🎧 Listened via audiobook 🎧

This is the second book I’ve read by Beth O’Leary and  WOW WOW WOW!

What a clever clever story!! It’s funny because as I was listening to this, even though we were being pulled along the story in a certain way, I never quite hated Joseph. I always felt there was a kindness and sincerity about him (possibly due to the talented actors who read this audiobook) and with that niggling feeling, I couldn’t quite understand why such a seemingly nice guy would cheat on 3 women at the same time! Were we being duped along with these ladies or was there more to it? What was his reasoning? Was he trying to decide who to choose or was he just a complete arsehole? I just HAD to find out. The intrigue had me hooked!

WELL….just as you think it’s going to hit the fan, this story transforms and suddenly things make perfect sense! It’s so difficult not to give things away so if any friends see this review, PLEASE READ THIS SO WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT HAHA!

I really loved this book and it’s probably one of my favourite’s now.
