I really enjoyed this book, it is insta love and a second chance romance. It’s full of sweet moments and so funny. I actually found myself laughing out loud multiple times.

Lexi and Jakes relationship was very sweet and relatable. It showed that they were both chasing their dreams, but feeling lost in their lives. They found comfort and love in each other.

I absolutely loved the found family, Chloe and Ali were amazing friends. I was also rooting for Ethan! Ethan was a sweet and kind man. I truly hope that in the future we can get books following their stories. I don’t even understand why, but Chad was almost endearing.

I would definitely recommend this book. It was fun and fast paced, I read the whole thing in one sitting. I’m sure many people will also love it.

Thank you to Netgally and St. Martins Press, for providing me with this ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Lexi and Jake meet at a bar, and what they thought would be a random one night stand that would end with blueberry pancakes, however it turns into a weekend that changes both their lives forever, of course there are a lot of ups and downs, a little miscommunication, and a few tears. I’m going to be honest, it surprised me how good this book was! It was very cute and now I want a live in chef.

A sweet second chance romance full of love, living with grief, and a lot of blueberry pancakes. Great for fans of Taylor Swift.

Lindsay Hameroff’s debut novel hit the mark for me - it had a little bit of everything I enjoy in a story. A strong plot, endearing main characters, strong friends (Chloe, Ali), Jewish food, and a dose of real life. Lexi is coping with the loss of her mother 9 years ago to uterine cancer. She’s living in her grief and Hameroff really portrayed it accurately and how hard it can be to cope with such an enormous loss.

I only wish Lexi had communicated better with Jake about how she was feeling with their conflicting work schedules. He tried to get her to open up but she wouldn’t.

I really enjoyed the food aspect of this novel and learning a bit about what goes on behind the scenes at a restaurant.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

So, this book was good. It was a little disappointing, though, because I fully believe that this book COULD have been really great. The plot was compelling, the characters were interesting, the spice was well spaced. There was just a lot of extra elements and scenes which (for me) didn’t really move the plot forward much but did shift focus away from the main plot. I also thought it was interesting that the big concern was how much time working in a kitchen was going to take away from being in the relationship, so the (spoiler) solution was for Lexi to start her own business?? Because that FAMOUSLY doesn’t take a lot of time, especially in the beginning….
