Well, now I know where David Rosenhan got the idea for his study. An interesting thing I got from this is that people who work with those who are receiving charity may treat said people worse than they would someone with money even though they are getting paid the same either way. That is still true today.

This was fascinating. My heart broke a little every time I reminded myself that it, terrifyingly, wasn't a work of fiction.

If you're interested in journalism, psychology, mental health treatment throw history, or just liked American Horror Story season two, then this is for you.
I must admit the written wasn't spectacular, but the content is so important; great message for the care of patients and the importance of journalism.
It is really short and easy to read, completely recommended it.

An interesting read. It is pretty appalling how women were treated back then so it is admirable that Nellie Bly would take great risks to expose the terrible conditions. Had to get used to her writing style and the use of language at that time - the writing style often felt very simplistic, and very plain but perhaps as a journalist, she had to be very basic in her writing style.
