Mixed Feelings

I’ll admit I’m not too much into the dark romances but I’ve been getting a little more into them lately. This book was written quite well, despite some spelling errors, and I was so excited to see where things went with Damon & Keira. I actually quite enjoyed their story, until the end that is. The ending was abrupt and disappointing. There was no conclusion to their relationship, no epilogue, nothing. It made an opening for the second book, which is fine, except the second book focuses on a different couple. I’m not sure that I’ll read the next one because of the way this one ended. I don’t want to get invested into another book & then have it end so abruptly.

I'll begin my review by admitting that I don't think I was the target audience for this book.  That being said, I didn't enjoy it. I struggle to find mafia romances that I enjoy, and it's not because they can sometimes be dark. I'll devour a dark romance with the best of them.

This wasn't it. It was going for insta-love (at least that's what it was telling us), but I wasn't buying what they were selling.  Their connection wasn't believable. She is 18, and he is 22.  It didn't seem super-believable that he was this big crime-boss. There was a lot of telling-not-showing in this book.

I found the book on Hoopla, and I'm thankful because that meant it was free for me to read.  I will not continue this series.

I had a bit of a difficult time getting started on this book and getting through the beginning, but once I got near about a third, I had to finish it. I think the problem for me was that especially the beginning seemed very unreal to me almost. The reactions of the characters and some of the situations seemed very unrealistic.
However, despite that, I did really enjoy the story and I loved the connection between Damon and Keira. It was intense, had good action and kept me reading. It's definitely worth the read if you ask me.

I really wanted to like this book, but so many of the plot details are ridiculous. The grammar, syntax, and punctuation are atrocious - a good editor and/or proofreader would be really helpful. I just cannot recommend this one. I won’t be reading more of the series.

This is the first book I’ve read for these authors and I really enjoyed it. Keira and Damon’s passion is sizzling and their story is like being on an awesome roller coaster you hope never ends. There is a plot twist at the end I didn’t see coming. This can be read as a stand-alone

Now if there is one word to describe this story it would be - ‘dark’. There were tomes when I struggled to read but the result is worth it. I’ve read things much darker and more twisted, but this one didn’t step over my ‘limit’ so to say. ✨

Keira and Damon’s story is no way easy. The events that unfold in this book are brutal but written so well by the author as I actually wanted to carry on reading. Keira’s constant struggle between what is right and wrong is fascinating to read as you see her try and overcome the fight between her head and heart. ✨

This story definitely isn’t for everybody, but it is definitely worth a try! The dynamics at play are delicate but make an interesting read!

My first audiobook and it was a wild ride. The book was nothing crazy, but there were a lot of gaps in the plot, especially towards the emotions that Damion and Keira felt from one moment to the next. I know this wasn't mainly written for the plot, but it could have been better. I gave it four stars because the smut scenes made me laugh.

I never write reviews but I felt like I had to. I enjoyed the book, the plot, and everything. I just feel like ****spoilers**** after like 2 days they are in love? I feel like because the book is only 246 pages the author didnt have time to develop their love. But otherwise, a good book, good plot, good characters. I want to read Xanders book next already!!
