This clearly was not the book for me. I actually spent more time rolling my eyes at the intensive use of (cliché) metaphors and common places than paying attention to plot and story, which is a shame. Because storywise, I feel that there's something good here, it's different from most of what I have encountered, and I was stoked at the idea of it, but the author just couldn't pull it off as far as my reading preferences go. The characters felt vapid, unrelatable, poorly constructed, it was hard pushing through this novel as I clearly couldn't find myself being dragged into it, pulled by the allure of what culd have been a great story. A re-write might save it, as I'm sure there's something worth it there, amongst the main plot idea. Just get rid of all those metaphors and the clichés, please.

3.5 stars. Urban fantasy about hedge witch Chance Monroe who is the only survivor of a supposedly dead serial killer who appears to have returned. Hints of romance with former college boyfriend and good friend who is an FBI agent. I liked it and i can tolerate a lot in terms of unbelievable but I am not sure about that ending with the killer.
