Je vais lire Sex & the City pour finir cette "saga" mais franchement, je suis loin, trèèèès loin d'être impressionnée et de comprendre l'engouement qu'il y a eu autour de cette oeuvre !

I liked how the characters were introduces and how they met each other. I really liked how the book ended. Gragged a bit towards the middle of it though.

I wish there were more to this series! It's just a fun, easy read. Love the characters, it felt really weird seeing them as their younger selves since I watched the TV series before the show. Explores love, sex, feminism, writing, all the things I enjoy haha. Definitely recommend this as a good contemporary read with a happy ending. Flows perfectly into the TV series if you're looking for a kind of prequel to see how the girls got to where they are.

Summer and the City picks up right where The Carrie Diaries ended; Carrie is in New York for her summer writing class. If you read The Carrie Diaries, you know that Carrie stupidly left her Carrie bag on her suitcase and it's been stolen. And who does she go to for help? None other than Samantha Jones.

It's fun to see Carrie grow up over the summer. She makes a lot of mistakes. She is a tad whiny. (Okay, I'm being generous with that one.) She keeps some old friends, and she loses some old friends. But most importantly, she becomes friends with the iconic Samantha and Miranda.

Now... for my review:
I really enjoyed reading this book. I've been wanting to read it for a very long time, but I could never find it when I wanted it. I thought it was just cute enough to still be something that a teenager would want to read, but mature enough for someone like me, a twenty-four year old, would enjoy.

Oh, and I don't think I ever mentioned how adorable I think the covers for both books are, so there... I love them.

I hated this book. And I don't throw that around often, because let's face it hate is a strong word. I really was hoping for something good in this book. Especially since the ending of the last book made you think that Carrie was going to have a world full of adventures. More like a world full of snooze fests. Every time I thought something interesting was going to happen Candace Bushnell ruined it. 1 step forward 5 steps back. I honestly don't know why I finished it, maybe because I thought something good would come in the end. Was I wrong. Carrie Bradshaw was simply stupid in the first book, in this one she was not only stupid, but selfish and egotistical. Not really a good combo. She kept complaining how no one was noticing how "glamorous" her new life was (because wearing the same outfit three days in a row is TOTALLY glamorous), yet she didn't seem to care about those around us. There was a complete double standard throughout this book. She was mad because her dad finally moved on over his wife's death and was dating a younger girl, meanwhile she was dating someone who was way too old for her. I just, I can't even. I do not suggest this book to anyone. I honestly liked "The Carrie Diaries," show, but now I can't even look at the actor's without getting mad. And I liked AnnaSophia Robb. Ugh.

In the Carrie Diaries we had a chance to see Carrie's high school life. In Summer and the City we get a taste of her new life in New York, trying to make herself more well known and trying to survive the ups and downs of her journey.

I personally didn't like this one very much, because Carrie seemed so mature at times and at others she was a complete child. I felt her personality was very wishy-washy. Her relationship with

My favorite character would have to be the two other girls in the novel: Miranda, the red headed crazy girl, and Samantha, the up-town girl with determination. I actually really liked Capote very much as well!

I personally didn't like Carrie's romance situations in this novel. I really didn't like any of them, especially L'il's but I wont get into that.

The one thing I was really looking forward to was Candace's very light and witty writing style. That was the one thing that I really loved out of this novel!
