Thoroughly enjoyed it, my favourite of the series.

This took me too long to read. I feel like it was so long but I enjoyed reading it overall. I was just hoping Sophie would end up with Hort. Not because I think she should in order to be happy but because they hint that in the beginning I believe. Anyways I don’t know if I should continue reading this series.

This book took me ages to get through, but in the end it was totally worth it. The wrap up was pretty rad. It had me in fits of tears and laughter, gasps and occasionally clutching the book to my chest with panic(but only the ending because the other 300+ pages dragged like hell). I can't recommend this series enough if you like fairy tales or magic-middle grade, however there is a ghastly amount of angst and rehashing of old plots from the previous novels. The one thing I will say against this book is that the characters felt so much older than 15. It wasn't a bad thing, and they were consistent in feeling this way, but it always stopped me in my tracks when they referenced their 16th birthday coming up, or whatever. Overall, B.

(After some more thought I bumped this down to a 4 star because it definitely dragged, and while I want to reread it, I think the series as a whole is going to suffer from a reread. This last book, had a lot of wishy washy-ness and although I enjoyed it, I didn't love it, and ultimately struggled for weeks to get into it, despite having just reread the previous two books which were better.)

This book was great. Some parts seemed a little repetitive from other books but overall a fantastic end.

I loved this soft ending to the series. If this was just the three books, I feel like everything wrapped up very well. I unfortunately knew the big twist in the story, as it’s kind of a well known spoiler. These books were a good break for me from adult fantasy. I loved the fairytale aspect of this series, and Sophie and Agatha are very compelling characters. I will most likely continue on with the series

The number of times I screamed and buried my head in my hands when Rafal came up is illegal.

I’m literally sporting a goofy grin as I write this someone help me.

Just as I had lost all hope in the male cast delivering, my faith was restored. We had upgraded Jack Frost with abs and a fashion sense, upgraded Dean with no shame and murderous instincts and (SQUEAL) upgraded Hort with less weasel and more charm. The best character arc I could ever ask for.

Of course, there’s still moments when I want to slam my head in the wall, like when they couldn’t even burn Agatha properly on the pyre, or really really fruity moments between Tedros and non-existent Filip. Or the time when Agatha and Tedros realised their honeymoon was over and started arguing like some crabby oldies on the verge of a divorce (this is the price you PAY for committing to something you suck at aGaThA). Or them ninja warrioring through the jungle like some wishy-washy version of Tarzan. OR Tedros fainting in the middle of nowhere, confirming my suspicions that he landed the lead role by sheer nepotism with nothing but stale air in his head. OR Tedros roasting girls for being weak when he isn’t exactly the sharpest swordsman on the block either. LEARN HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF BEFORE YOU START ON SOME SEXIST, HIGHLY HYPOCRITICAL ASSESSMENT YOU OAF.

(Deep breaths)

At least Sophie improved. Agatha was just regressing the whole time into some disgusting 1980s housewife dreaming about her white picket fence but worrying that the fence only comes in vomit green. Sophie was a unflinchingly WICKED queen and I LOVED HER (!!!!) She PUT HER DARN FOOT DOWN and showed them how delightfully evil she could be.

Despite her creepy ogling of other eligible bachelors and every teenage heartthrob on the block, Agatha will never hold a candle to the glorious five-star entertainment that is Sophie.

Which begs the question of why it had to end in the worst possible way. Agatha didn’t even lose a limb. Could’ve at least stabbed her in the eye or something. And Lancelot reminds me of myself when I play badminton perfectly fine at home but can’t even serve in school in front of my teacher. It’s not just you homie.

I’ve also realised that their curriculum has been revised thrice in the past three years so well, kudus to them for surviving.

To get my point across once more: RAFAL #Top5 BOOK BOYFRIEND YOULL LIVE ON FOREVER IN MY HEART

I’m gonna stop before this gets out of control
