This is my first K.A. Tucker book and I’ve heard good things about this series so i finally decided to give it a try. While I understand that the fmc’s innocence and lack of sexual knowledge or even social cues are a result of her religious upbringing, it can be slightly annoying to read about especially when it’s kind of a “duh what did you think would happen” situation. I did think the development of Abbi and Henry’s “relationship” went from 0 to 100 real quick which I wasn’t necessarily a fan of but not completely against, since the entire series focuses on them together. The way the book ended definitely makes me wanna pick up the next book to see how the whole Kira issue plays out now that Abbi is in the picture and got a glimpse of that drama.

Okay, so I have very mixed feelings about this book. At first, the main heroine was annoying, but she evolved, and I grew to like her. This was a painful, slow burn, and thanks to the solo POV, I struggled to understand Henry’s feelings and intentions. About halfway through, things got much better, and now I am addicted. Thanks to the cliffhanger, I am now onto the second book.

💛 Tempt Me 💛 (Book 1 of the Wolf Hotel series) by K.A. Tucker

5/5 ⭐️
4/5 🌶️

💛 I don’t know what was put in this book - but I was an addict. I had it 90% read in one day. 😅 I’m telling you - the angst of this book - the 🌶️ slow burn is such a tease - the 🔥 between these MCs - OH EM GEE.

💛 The FMC comes from a religious background and is very much a prude - but when her boyfriend seemingly thinks that he needs to sow his wild oats while she waits around for him like the good Christian girl she is - she decides against it and takes a chance. A chance that leads her straight to Alaska to one hot lumberjack looking billionaire and CEO.

💛 Henry is 🥵 like - the mouth on that man could make you weak. He’s firm - to the point - and playing with 🔥. He’s supposed to be on his best behavior but then he decides “f it”. This man takes you on a wild ride of emotions. One minute he’s hot as lava and the next he’s an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean. The hot and cold will give you whiplash.

💛 Normally I don’t like one POV - because I don’t feel as though I get as invested as I would if I read dual POV - but that was not the case with this book. I was ecstatic and excited and just couldn’t stop reading!

💛 Also - the cliffy .. AYKM …

A pretty decent "spicy" read. The writing was good and it kept me interested until the end (that ending tho!! I was NOT expecting that).
(Minor spoliers ahead but not really?)

Abbi was a little annoying at times and Henry is shady asf and becomes unlikable pretty fast.

Check trigger warnings because although their relationship was a slow burn, it got VERY spicy quickly. And some of them were borderline s**xual assault.

This is a story of a wealthy man who gaslights a naive young woman and lures her with the promise of a job she wants at a remote Alaskan hotel. Instead his aim all along was to make her his personal assistant/sex slave. It's human trafficking and he admits he selected her because of her low self-esteem and abuse by a previous partner. He's disgusting... but he's hot and she's too stupid to pay attention to all the red flags. She readily gives up every moral she's held for a lifetime.

This is pure Jeffrey Epstein fan fiction and its gross. The cliffhanger ending just adds insult to injury.

I would not have read this had I known the book is 4 parts LOL that being said, going in blind to the book, the writing was really engaging and I zoomed through this book without any issues.
