If you like CP’s other books, I think you’ll enjoy this too. But I can see how some people can’t get past the imagery. He can make something so gross with just a few words and short sentences. I always feel some kind of discomfort when I read his stuff, but that’s the point right?
I wasn’t sure how he’d tie it all together but he did. He always does.

I've missed you, Mister Palahniuk. It's been a long time. This story is a perfect example of everything I love about one of my favorite authors. Sharp wit, technical instructions, catchphrases like the hook of a good song, characters flawed to perfection, and a narration you can snap your fingers to. This is the first Palahniuk book to not shock me- either I'm older and wiser or I've read enough of his work to spot it coming up ahead. That doesn't ruin the feeling of it, though- instead of feeling like you've been slapped with something you didn't expect, Diary feels more like riding in a runaway train- you can see all of the bends coming up ahead and there's nothing you can do to stop them.

Really good and easy read. The twist is surprising and very, very weird. If you want a short psychological read this is a good choice.
