I've really enjoyed Camilleri's books in the past; however, this episode treats violence against women with far too little condemnation. Plus, there was a supernatural tinge to the work which seemed very out of place. Unless you're a completionist in your mystery reading, give this a pass.

obviously not a good idea to start an author's work well into the series, but this was given to me with a recommendation so... however, the slight plot was fairly predictable, the writing nothing like what the jacket blurbs suggested, I disliked Montalbano himself and especially his pathetic teenage approach to relationships, plus the prophetic dream looked to be shoved in because the editor said the book was too short and he needed a pretext to suddenly reverse decisions and maintain his basic level of misery. All in all, nothing there for me to care about so the only saving grace was how short it was. Don't even get me started on the dialogue of the working class characters, just painfully bad...
