Gave up. I think the first book was pretty okay, and probably could’ve stayed as a stand alone, of course I understand that the author wanted to expand on this universe a little bit and that’s perfectly fine! That being said, I think because the first book took a while to develop, the second book was not as enticing because you had to sit through the dragging plot for a while. Eventually I just lost interest.

Although I liked this novel, it felt like a variety of short stories put together. Many plot points felt unsatisfying due to lack of time to develop. Izzy was much more uncertain this time. This point is neutral as it felt realistic to the feelings of being a teenager on the cusp of more independent adulthood but it was frustrating at times.
