Meg Langslow is back, this time working for her brother Rob’s startup company, the Mutant Wizards. The intrepid computer gamers are programming day and night trying to get their role-playing lawyer game ready for launch. There’s also a one-winged rescue buzzard in the reception area (because, of course.) They are sharing the space with a group of psychotherapists, who are none too pleased with their antics. One thing I love about this series is how with each book, the author takes Meg and puts her in a completely new, crazy setting. I never know what she’ll be doing, but it’s always hilarious. Someone in the company is murdered and the police have their eye on poor Rob, so it’s up to Meg to clear him by searching up other possible suspects. Hilarity ensues along the way. This is one of my favorite cozies. I love the characters and how birds (and the devilish little dog Spike) are incorporated into each one.

Enjoyable light read, although I need to stop pretending that I can figure out who the killer is. I'm always so disappointed when I'm wrong.

I love these books. I'm off to add the next one to my to buy list once the book ban is over. They're so much fun - nice mystery, lots of humour and an engaging leading lady - and so far inventive ways of keeping her with the love interest she snagged in book one. I'm only glad I've discovered these so far into the series - so I can go back and read the rest. I think I started reading the first one after seeing it on one of Lauren Willig's reading lists - maybe an if you like this try one - and I'm so glad I did.

While the first in the series is the best, I loved this one too. It helps to know someone who works in the computer industry--the humor is that much easier to appreciate. It wasn't really grabbing my attention until the buzzard has his little star scene--that was hilarious! And the ending is really great. Go, Meg!
