This is one of my favorite tropes which is a celebrity dating a regular person which also happens to be a childhood friend.

I would have loved this book hands down I originally bought and read this book when I thought it was Ivy Owens, yes I knew it was pen name but then it was revealed to be one half of Christina Lauren and honestly I'm a little disappointed. 1 of the main reasons is why can't people stick to their own races and why must they write about minorities especially? That's something I'm tired of seeing especially in established authors.

I went into this book knowing nothing about it; I found it on Kindle Unlimited during a night of insomnia, and I swear, I didn't put it down until like 5 AM the following morning. Then, I Googled the author's name after finishing it, and realized "Ivy Owens" is actually a pseudonym for Lauren Billings, aka the "Lauren" half of the ICONIC romance writing duo, Christina Lauren! No wonder I absolutely devoured this book!

The story follows Gigi, an investigative journalist who reconnects with Alec, a childhood friend, after their flights are delayed in Seattle returning from London. There is an instant connection between the two -- but that is only the beginning of their whirlwind romance that will take you on a crazy-wild ride from beginning to end (can't say too much without spoiling).

Sure, the story is far-fetched and fantastical, but it's so damn well-written and compelling that you simply CANNOT put it down. The spice is top-tier, no notes. The banter was bantering. I loved it!

Una romcom llena de pasión y diversión, diseñada para atraparte y no soltarte hasta que termines de leerla.

I find myself very interested in the plots of Christina Lauren books when I read the blurbs (and this is the pen name of half of the writing duo) but ultimately never fully satisfied with the story and character arc.

They have great plotting ideas…. But think it’s their characterization and development that is 6/10 for me? I rarely highlight written passages in their books.

The same is true of this book, I skipped a huge chunk in the middle and then almost finished it but stopped again.
