It was far too repetitive. If this book was shorter, it would have been more impactful.

Solid. Christian fiction. Tells the story of Katherine Walsh who was sent west by her family because she was rebellious to claim her uncles inheritance. She speaks her mind, makes friends, runs the newspaper and falls in love. She wants and does great things for the town.

Cute story, not as intriguing as the Mark of the Lion series. Fairly forgettable but an enjoyable read

I usually really enjoy Rivers's books, but this book did not do it for me. Lets keep telling meaningful salvation stories and talk about real problems with great characters instead of this mess of a book. Or if you're going to do a fun romance book, actually make it fun.
I was hating on this book for the first half, but it actually had a great middle/ending, until a random fire burned it all to the ground. Mixed emotions about this one.
Side Notes
• Why is there a murder? So random. What.
• What was with the molestation joke? Super weird. A few "jokes" were a little off-color and I was uncomfortable. But mostly the jokes were just basic and NOT funny.
• Too! Many! Exclamation! Points!
• OMG I I JUST UNDERSTOOD THE PUN OF THE TITLE. hahaha
• the fire was so random…
• The moral of the epilogue = have more than 6 children
