Für mich das beste Buch über den zweiten Weltkrieg, das ich bisher gelesen habe. Mit einer harmonischen und einfachen Sprache zieht Boyne den Leser in die damalige Welt, zeigt auf authentische Weise das Böse von damals auf und auch die Grauzonen, verschiedene und sich auch gegenseitig abstoßende Charakterzüge. Er lässt unsere Adern gefrieren und sie dann wieder auftauen, lässt uns bei Dingen zusehen, die uns wehtun und lässt uns gleichzeitig immer noch etwas Hoffnung im Herzen. Und das alles mit einer Sprache, die für jeden zugänglich ist und genau das ist es eben, was es so echt gemacht hat. Dieses Buch war wie ein Sog, eine wundervolle Geschichte, eine tragische und dramatische Geschichte mit spannenden Wendungen. Für mich ist dieses Buch ein Meisterwerk und endlich wieder eines, das von mir fünf Sterne bekommt. Es war so ergreifend und hallt noch in mir nach. Ich vermisse das Buch, die Charaktere und gleichermaßen bin ich froh, heil aus der Nummer rausgekommen zu sein. Doch so ganz heil geblieben bin ich nicht, denn ... gewisse Entwicklungen von Menschen in diesem Buch brachen einem tatsächlich das Herz. Und tatsächlich erwischt man sich dabei zu sagen, dass man verstehen kann, wieso es so lief. Doch entschuldigt das etwas? Ich schätze nicht. Nach diese Buch fühlt man sich jedenfalls schuldig, auch wenn man eigentlich nur eine Geschichte gelesen hat. Aber immerhin eine Geschichte, bei der ein ganz großer Teil der Wirklichkeit entsprochen hat. Ich habe das Buch jedenfalls verinnerlicht, eingeatmet und viel damit erlebt. Dafür kann ich nur danke sagen.

A ver. Qué puedo decir ? Me ha dejado pensando, y a la vez sin palabras. Es una de esas obras que sabes que te va a acompañar siempre el poso qie te deja. Habeis leído El niño del pijama de rayas ? Pues es una historia... complementaria ?
Aparecen en algunos momentos personajes de esa novela. Pero no penseis que es una secuela, porque no lo es. Digamos que empieza antes de esa novela, y termina después jajajaj
En la del pijama a rayas se ve la historia de los nazis desde la perspectiva de un niño, hijo de un comandante nazi ( el rango me cuesta recordarlo, algo así era ), y en esta obra, en cambio, se ve como un niño va creciendo y convirtiendose en todo un nazi... Una historia desgarradora también.
Me ha encantado ver una visión más cercana de Hitler, más... Hogareña? Aunque no por ello mejor, simplemente como que se ve de más de cerca.
Es increible la influencia que tienen los adultos en los niños, como personas buenas se pueden corromper si son criados en diferentes lugares y personas.
La versad es que me he quedado con el corazón en un puño. Seguiré reflexionando sobre esta novela, porque da mucho que pensar.

John Boyne has done it again. Not content with writing a book so dangerously inaccurate that the Auschwitz Museum actively advocates for people NOT to read it, he writes (and publishes!)... THIS, as well.

I'll be honest, this novel really pissed me off which means that the author has a lot of talent.
I found Pierrot really disagreeable. He also caused a lot of harm to good people. Lucky that Emma was there.
Nevertheless, I found his attitude and actions realistic because Adolf Hitler was very good at manipulating people. If not, he would not have had so much notoriety.
Strangely, I don't know how I feel about this novel I will have to think about it more.

Short story but loved it, love the authors books they grip you and take you back in time. Wonder if there will be a film made like the boy in the striped pyjamas.
