It was an entertaining enough story, but the writing was atrocious. It felt like the authors were trying way too hard to fit in with current slang, but it just didn't work. And I didn't get a sense of the personality of the main character at all, or anything about her, her appearance, her family, anything. It was all about other people. Not a great book.

Bittersweet Sixteen was better, but this was very good. I love books by these two.
I love how they always make their main characters likable!

Kira eats, drinks, and breathes fashion. And she gets the dream job she's always wanted--summer intern at her favorite magazine. But all that glitters is not gold, and Kira learns the hard way in this novel.

I read this just because I wanted to catch up with my reading for the month and this was a short book. I never let myself do that, but I figured that it was okay. I enjoyed this book. I didn't love it though. It had it's usual contemporary flaws in my eyes. It was short and really fast paced so it skimmed over a lot of parts that I would have loved to know more about. It always bothers me with the OMG love at first sight thing. She was going to college time to stop being naive. The Matt thing wasn't a huge shock to me. The theft part did kinda surprise me. I thought it was kinda funny how everyone was practically going to an ivy school. It was pretty predictable, but enjoyable though. It reminded me a little bit of The Devil Wears Prada. It always shows the other editors as being such great characters. I think they were probably my favorite characters in the whole book.

Memorable characters and decent writing, but the plot was only average. The story was fairly predictable, but not completely corny. Overall, it was an okay book. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it.
