The book is surprising well written, with engaging characters and evocative descriptions. This explains how a book could jump from Polish language to the Anglo-sphere, not an easy feat.
There are few moments where we glimpse dark undercurrents similar to the The Dark Tower series, and I hope it will be further explored in the books to come. Other times it makes a funny (and dark) gibe at the Grimm fables.
