I don’t know how to feel about this one… the pacing was good, but the narration was so fragmented I became frustrated toward the end. I understand what Koch was trying to do in terms of nature vs nurture, but the ending fell flat for me. That and the completely made up science, which could have been presented more thoughtfully. I wanted to like it, but in the end I’m glad it’s over.

I'm not totally sure what I think yet. None of the characters was all that likeable.

Strange book indeed. But I read it in one day, so clearly it was fascinating enough! I don't know, I liked it. Weird book, but I dig it. I'm glad I read it!

Well this took a dark turn! Somehow, it was the pre-inflation prices that shocked me the most though!

I really enjoyed this book! I can definitely understand why so many people disliked the characters, I certainly couldn't identify with any of them as they were sly and sneaky liars. But at the same time, the way the story was written, giving you pieces of information here and there, held my interest. While it was utterly disturbing, it had me turning pages just to find out if there were any decent people in the end. It was a twisted story, and I loved it.

A real page turner even though you really don't like or connect with any of the characters.
