Animals at Night is written by Katy Flint and illustrated by Cornelia Li and it is a beautiful hardback book, perfect for sharing with little ones. The book shows a wide range of nocturnal animals in varying habitats. It explains why the animals featured prefer the night, giving pictures of the animals in their habitats along with a short explanation of why they are nocturnal.
Some of the animals are well known to children and others are more unusual which I loved. The habitats included are:
City
Rainforest
Beach
Australian Outback
Woodlands of North America
Arctic
Mountains
Mangrove
Arizona Desert
Coral Reef
African Savannah
An absolutely wonderful book to share with young children. I think small children will enjoy listening to the small amount of text on each page which describes the animal and spotting animals they recognise. The illustrations were enchanting – I think they would really appeal to children. Also included is a pull out glow in the dark poster of creatures in the ocean.
We had a lot of plastic animals when the boys were little and I think a collection of these would be a good accompaniment for this book.
I think age range would be 3+ for sharing, 5-7 for reading and enjoying independently.

I adore everything about this book. The color scheme, the illustrations, the facts and the fact that the book will glow in the dark.

It was nice to see a book about animals that focused on the nocturnal ones. Not often do we see that time of the night depicted throughout an entire book.

This is a great book, showing nocturnal animals in their habitats around the world. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, colorful and filled with detail. The are bits of information about each habitat and its creatures, giving details about their lives and habits. I was lucky enough to get an e-arc of this book, I can't wait to see the actual book with the glow in the dark effects!

Good enough book that present animals from various habitats, at night. Some informations on that habitat and on each animal. Simple but well executed!
