:(((( this book was so emotional and vulnerable and i really loved it so much. i was able to read it more easily in the second half (once i finally got a hold of who was who lol & understood what was going on). also really glad to have read my first book by a Māori author!!

Make sure you have time to soak in this read. It's not one you can easily walk away from. But what a worthwhile read! I loved the beautiful interweaving of reo Māori – reo Pākehā just doesn't carry the same heart and this story needed all the heart Becky spilled out.
