Liked the first half and hated the last 40 percent. I skimmed the epilogue. I liked the first scene at the bar and the morning after but everything else felt hurried, esp that scene with the announcer. I dont even know how H couldve fallen in love that fast. When he said the words, it was just a letdown. Because where's the supporting scenes? Sure they said they were talking every day, but aside from that morning scene, i couldnt really understand the supposed fascination. There's a lot of telling and not showing. And the knitting thing's been overused, yeah?

I first read this when it came out on Kindle and then purchased the audiobook later when it was available. I then saved it for a time when I needed a little bit of Penny Reid in my life. It was a very fun reread, this time by Joy Nash.

As much as I love the Winstons, it was lovely to see Penny Reid step away from Green Valley. There's a breath of fresh air in her new book, while still retaining Penny's signature style. The dynamic between Abby and Rex reminded me a bit of Janie and Quinn in Neanderthal Seeks Human. Like Janie, Abby is uncomfortable with relationships, mostly because of her disastrous teenaged marriage. And we live her discomfort with her as she comes to grips with her feelings for Rex and feelings about committed relationships.
And so much crafting! All the crafting!
