An entertaining guilty pleasure romance read. Fun, but not with that much substance
First let me tell you that I hate love triangles. With the intensities of 1000 white-hot burning suns, I hate them. And I really liked how it was done in this book. This is mainly because it's focused on America as a person, who she wants to become and what she wants her future to be. Can she become a princess and deal with the consequences? Or is her first love Aspen who she is truly meant to be with?
I felt the pacing and the plot were good and liked that there was more world and character development, however America Singer is such a stubborn main character that it can be overbearingly annoying.

I gave the first book a 3.75 and really believe the second is a whole star bellow. I know the main lead is 17, but… so wishy-washy. And no faith, or trust in the prince. Like just trust him a little, right? Also don’t be such a hypocrite? Will this stop me from finishing the series? No
