This book contains practical advice and is relatively short. It can be a good reminder from time to time to take a step back and look at one’s life to see if some of these practices could improve it.

Where the hell does this monk get off telling me to be a goddamn serf and pass it off as just being ~zen~

I loved this book, the author clearly has an understanding of life in the west and as a senior Zen monk his advice feels practical to my life rather than others I have read which focus on the seclusion of monastery life.

The tips are short and to the point and I got a sense of calm and reflection from reading it. I would totally recommend this book to others and certainly as a starting point for those looking to make small Zen changes in their life. I am going to cherish this book going forward and go back to it often.
