Sorry, but Rain and River’s story did not need two books to be resolved.  Really feel that this book was mostly intended to introduce Roman and the Enclave and set up the next series.  Came very close to dnf at multiple points.

Raw, real and emotional. I will be recommending this series until my very end. Rain and River have embedded themselves into my heart and soul. CE Ricci has done a wonderful job of connecting you with these characters. I have never connected with a character as much as I did River. You how that pain feels, you know how that anger feels, you know how heavy those feelings are. These character connections are everything.

WAR IS OVER!!!
My review for this book? It’s simple really, I’ve never loved and hated something so much in my life. If I review this shit I’ll serve spoiler after spoiler.

WOW

This is by far one of my favorite duets I’ve ever read. I laughed, cried and felt their story in my soul. So so good!!!

This book pissed me then hell off!!! Why were they broken up for SO LONG for NO REASON!? The plot was definitely better in this book than the first - but at what cost. It got so ridiculous and dramatic in the end I was rolling my eyes. I also think both MMCs are childish. Grow up!!! Roman was weird as hell and awful but I am somewhat intrigued to read his book because whyyyyy is he so insufferable??

I don’t think I will ever hate a duet the way I hate the river duet and the fact that CE Ricci got famous because of it is mentally killing me. There is so much to say as to why this is one of the worst mm books I have read but all I can say is that CE Ricci you will pay for your crimes one day. Lousy writing, terrible plot ideas, unnecessary separation arc, child rape is suddenly just a plot device and no one even gaf ??, cheating????, random drug abuse that also ended the second they got together because drugs aren’t addictive but love is, a cheap idea of the rothschild theory because why did we suddenly have an organisation that rules the world like what does that have to do with two guys that play football, no chemistry idgaf, both characters have the brain of a dead monkey, WRITTEN OUT CSA that also again serves no purpose actually its just there and again no one really gave a fuck, rivers step dad being a..stalker? Like my guy you got exposed as a child molester and your revenge is stalking two gay boys are you okay, most underwhelming love confessions ever, again river has no brain like genuinely in book 2 this guy was running on nothing just vibes and there is so much more I could say but if I actually started putting my hatred in words I would have to write a WHOLE ESSAY to really point everything bad out because it’s genuinely just terrible I actually feel bad that gay men have to live knowing this book exists as a part of their representation in literature

The conclusion to River and Rain’s story and I already miss them and want more. It picks up exactly where Follow The River ends. My heart broke for River and Rain so many times, I just needed them to get to their happy ending. Rain and River discover that the things they thought were only in movies are actually real, when they’re introduced to a world of cover-ups, secret societies, and people willing to do anything to keep control.
Their story is still dark and emotional but there’s not as many triggers as the first book. There’s also some twists that I did not see coming.
River, the once super happy and joking, college quarterback back who everyone loved is struggling after what happened with Rain after getting back from the cabin. He’s heartbroken and using drugs and alcohol to numb his pain. Rain is watching River’s fall to rock bottom, feeling heartbroken because he was the one who caused so much pain. There was just so many things trying to stand in their way of being together. Including Roman, Rain’s best friend from prep school.
And the ending, well let’s just say I held my breath for a few chapters.
