Meh. I felt like this book could have been really fun an interesting at half the length. There was just too much development and not enough action for me. It's still not entirely clear to me why I was supposed to care about some of the characters.

Can be quite boring, yet so charming. It is very, very long for what it is. The story really started to pick up for me past the 80% mark, which was still a good 26 hours into the audiobook, so this was a labor of love. After reading (and adoring) Piranesi, I had to find more books by Clarke and I’m happy to say this one does have that special “something.”

This is a reread for me, since last time I read it was probably back in 2005/2006—me and Audible are going for it.

THIS IS SO GOOD. I'd just FORGOTTEN, so I'm terribly glad that I reacquainted myself with an old friend. It was an absolute delight, since it's been just long enough that everything was a surprise to me. And, um, tall, not-quite-but-almost handsome redhead enamored with his own cleverness? CALL ME JONATHAN STRANGE.
