I found the age range for the kids mixed with what they were doing very unrealistic. It was also, I don't know, a little off putting to write a book that is so violent towards children, with details etc. I just do not see why that is fun or entertaining. I do not think that is good writing, just shock value. It was not just some Lord of the Flies stuff. It was just off putting to include such details of children.

I enjoyed the writing style and some of the monologues (even though the thought processes didn’t make sense for six year olds), but that’s about where my enjoyment ends. I read the reviews on this and knew what I was getting into, but this really is the most dismal book imaginable.

When people said that The Laws of the Skies are brutal, believe them.

This comes to a close second in terms of darkest books I ever read. First is of course, Hogg. If you're not a fan of children getting un@lived, I would highly recommend to skip this.
