It would’ve been nice to have a little extra padding (pardon the pun) of the story regarding the so called ghost however as it was originally a chunk cut out of the third book and made into a .5 mini story, I’ll forgive it it’s sins. It’s still a great story though, nice little quick read before bed!

This isn't anything extraordinary by any means. However, it felt very true to series and gave me an enormous surge of nostalgia. I actually might reread some books in the series now. Also, Sherlock and Crowe agree so much with me. With trying to explain everything logically. I felt so understood once more.

Moreover, I really appreciated the exploration of how the asylums worked back then as torture places and ways to get rid of people for political or personal reasons as long as one had enough money. Was first introduced to this part of history through the movie Changeling starring Angelina Jolie but it fascinates and horrifies me every time I reread sth about it. Nevertheless, I loved how hopeful it was at the end.

Would prefer to have read it in greek though.

I just felt so warm inside when Sherlock risked his freedom for the people being exploited and hurt there. However, he wasn't in such danger as Crowe implied. That part I felt was not very well thought out. Not only there was no risk of him being locked up again but they also faced him head and made him scared. Lastly, I would like for the incident to last a bit more than one day. It was pure luck that Sherlock didn't find any guard patrolling when he made his escape attempt as he hadn't noted their schedules and he didn't even have an accurate sense if time due to falling asleep. Maybe from the position of the light square though.

So I read this just before reading the forth book as it is was originally going to be in the third. This story wasn't any different than the other. Thrilling. Full of twists. A brilliant read. Anyone thinking of reading this book and the series should definately try it for themselves.

At first, this started out incredibly slow, like the story was fluffed up to try to make it bigger. I imagine the beginning needed to have stuff added to it to make it stand on its own once removed from the 3rd book.

I would have loved for this to have been turned into a novel. So much potential to be fleshed out. Really, Sherlock should have waited a day to see the routine of the guards before wasting his possible single escape attempt.
