Khalil Gibran propose ici une histoire d'amour au coeur de Beyrouth : courte, passionnelle, contrariée et enflammée. On peut faire l'analogie avec Roméo et Juliette, même si le seul point commun entre les deux œuvres sera l'amour entre le narrateur et la magnifique Salma.
L'auteur porte le roman, très court, avec une plume très poétique, et il utilise beaucoup la répétition, les métaphores et les allégories pour faire comprendre les sentiments de nos protagonistes.
Une lecture courte et facile, donc, mais je pense être passée un peu à côté.
