I love this book so much, Dean and Cat's story is fantastic, it's my favorite in the series. The world-building and characters in the series if brilliant but this book has become my favorite of them all, I wanted Dean's story so much and with all the twists and turns I got here I fell in love with him. I really enjoyed how Cat made Dean grovel and work for it. All the secrets, lies and everything you didn't think would get a relationship work kind of added the cherry on top for the story. You need to read them all! Brilliant 5 stars!

Suspend all sense of reality, as you know, and these will be decent.

I quite liked Dean in The Heir even though he was kinda demonised about halfway through. Still, the first bit gave me a bit of a glimpse at a very angry young man who was complex, too, and I could see him grow into a character we would really like. Cat I liked because she changed and grew so much in the last book, and their scenes together were quite fiery getting set up. Obviously I was super ready for this one because I expected fireworks. Fireworks we certainly got.

This book didn’t have much third party chapters, and I quite liked it because I was hooked on Dean and Cat’s story. These characters grow together. Their relationship may have started one way, but went a totally different way pretty soon, and I was there for all Cat’s consuming guilt and Dean’s searing anger.

Snow was a good addition to this as he was the catalyst that realistically humanised Dean a bit, training him, changing him, shaping him. Anna is still a character that’s kinda whatevs, Leo is still around, Chay I liked reading about and pleased her and Ozzy are still kicking it, and I really enjoyed Rakel coming into her character some more.

Fun read again, and Dean and Cat had the chemistry and fire I was hoping they’d have, and Dean is exactly as spicy as I was hoping he would be.

Is this the most well written book? No. Does it have a complete choke hold on me? Yes, for some insane reason.

PHENOMENAL

Ugh how on earth does each book get better than the previous one??? This one has so much humour and action, that’s it’s insane. I absolutely loved to see Dean’s and Cat’s transformations, and the mystery for the next book is clearly laid out. I adored Snow and how good of a role model he was to Dean. This book has comfort and spice in equal measure, and plenty of excitement to keep you going
