Wow! After a series of rom-coms, this book was such a unique and different read. I was completely absorbed in the story after the first chapter and it kept me guessing throughout. This is one I don’t want to say too much about as I think it’s a better read than the description may make it sound.

The characters were strong, the psychic storyline was very unique, and the subtle mystery quality of the book kept me hooked- I read this one in a day and would highly recommend!

Thank you to Berkley Publishing for my gifted review copy.

Okay it’s time to process. I got this as a “Blind Date with a Book” gift for my birthday so I truly went into this blind. I was expecting cheesy romance and got something so much more than that. I’m not a huge fan of a LaLaLand type ending but other than that I don’t have a complaint. This book tackles really deep struggles and topics such as death, grief, loss, and attachment in such a beautiful way. Would read again. A nice change of pace and a good surprise.

i lowkey hated the characters and also for once id like to see a believer/skeptic dynamic in a book thats not always the same. BUT! i loved the plot, it was unexpected. had a great time reading it.

I didn't give it the credit I should have mid-book, but I really enjoyed this book. The blending of genres was executed well, clearly with each genre's audience in mind. The writing style is relatable and engaging without trying too hard to be either of those things. The pace was solid, maybe a little slow at times but not jarringly so. And the characters were believable
Spoiler(for the Skye that's going to read this in the future, Sylvie's choices are very believable and you know it)
. Now, the book is not without flaw. It was a tad too melodramatic at a few points and there are some scenes were not needed. I also think the suspense the author tried to create was a bit lacking. But it's a really solid book, and I do recommend it.
