i have re-read this book often, i pick it up, read a few chapters and put it away again. it is my go to ‘don’t know what to read now’ book.

WOW!

I found the characters quite flat and the story was only somewhat engaging. The evolution and changing of Mars was my favorite part.

I've loved this book and hated it. I love the grand scale of the story and how it makes me excited about colonizing Mars, but some of the characters... Each part is told by a different character, and though I liked some, I really hated others, which made parts of the book difficult to get through. I wish Michel and Frank had not gotten a chapter and Arkady had. Overall I enjoyed this book a lot and it made me think about things, which I always appreciate in books. I want to read book two.
