Actual review (August 2024):
If I hadn't actually been to the museum I probably wouldn't have finished this. As it is, I bought and read it after going through the museum. I was obsessed with it, there for probably 2-3 hours, and I really wish the objects had been incorporated more into the story, although they were still there a lot. My main gripe about this book is the pacing and how terribly long it takes to get to anything. It's all just kind of this guy brooding the entire time. Ah well.

I’m glad I finished this right when I went to the museum. The ending I think could have come off as contrived but instead I climbed to the top floor of the museum and I saw the little bed and despite knowing it was a diorama I felt emotional.
