I was just very confused as to what it was doing
Perhaps the formatting on paper made more sense
But, as audio, it wasn't clear if this was poetry or a collection of vox-pop sound-bites or what

Awe sooo good, giving a voice to black people of all walks of life and what they imagine for their life or lives around them. It’s like you just want to breath the words in and exhale them. It’s almost like a hug from your grandmother you feel the love, and pride in our blackness.

There are some books that inspire you to write your own stories and reclamations and this is one of those books! I want a physical copy of this one.

In this stunning poetry anthology, vulnerable black voices express their innermost thoughts, frustrations, and joys. This is a beautiful expression of community and I adored every second of it. As a white person, I was not the target audience. With that being said, this felt like an honor to experience and I was left feeling very hopeful. I listened to this as an audiobook and it was phenomenal, highly recommend.
