FASCINATING look at three sisters who grew up in a family that enslaved people. The sisters took very different paths in life, and I found Katharine's story the most interesting.

Wow, I finished! The amount of research that went into this book is staggering. There were like, 200pgs of notes and bibliography. I wish there had been more about Grace's turn from communist radical to conservative Christian/racist, and I expected there to be more about Elizabeth. Lots of interesting stuff in here.
