This was a lovely book. The story telling is too notch, it flows wonderfully and still breaks up the story. The events of Esme's life are heart breaking and what's worse is the actions of those around her, but it's all woven together in this great tale that you can't seem to put down. Maggie O'Farrell does such a great job of delivering you this story and it develops as one may head about the life of an elderly relative, much like what happens to Iris. Highly recommend.

I absolutely loved this story - full of family drama and secrets that continue to be uncovered until the last page. The story moved at the perfect pace, it was a multi-POV but one that was easy to follow. The writing was great and descriptive but not too much so. Can’t wait to read more from this author!
