CAL KANE SUPREMACY!!

What can I say about this book except that it is perfect?? It's a bittersweet conclusion to this wonderful series.

The Kane boys have stolen my heart as a whole, but I was eagerly anticipating Cal's story and the mysterious details of his letter and Alana. Not only did I love the romance aspects (spice included!!), I also enjoy the found family in Lake Wisteria and the authentic portrayal Lauren Asher presents of alcoholism/addiction. She takes care to depict the realities of ghost who struggle and those who have to watch/love those who struggle with substance dependence. Colleen Hoover should take a page out of Asher's playbook and learn how to make broken characters who aren't also completely toxic and irredeemable. The humanity in Asher's characters is refreshing and beautiful. Cal and Alana's journey made me laugh, cry, swoon, AND curl up with warm fuzzies.

I was afraid almost 600 pages was going to be entirely unnecessary and way too long for a romance book, but I think every page fit into the plot and serve an important purpose in organically developing Cal and Lana's relationship. I also gobbled them all up in 2 days, so that should tell you something! I'm sad to see this series come to a close, but I happily await Asher's next story.

(Side note: I will forgive the sprinkling of typos due to the perfection that is Final Offer.)
