Somehow I knew Cal’s story would be my favourite.

Asher’s depiction of alcoholism is well researched and written with respect for those who struggle with substance abuse.

Alana is a woman after my own heart with her love of baking. I respect her need to put Cami before anyone else, even Cal’s need to get sober.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for a golden retriever boy and a happy ending.

I love Cal. He has been my favourite of the brothers throughout the series. Don’t get me wrong, I do love a grumpy man but Cal and his sarcastic comments will always be better.

This book was a lot more serious at points than the others. Addiction is not just a passing comment but a constant. I really like how it was discussed and handled especially in Cal’s POVs.

Lana is great too, she did annoy me sometimes but I would have probably done the same thing in most cases except when it comes to her sister but that is a minor part of the book. Cami is amazing and probably the best character. She is adorable and great at hustling.

I love the ending, not just for Cal and Lana but how the series was wrapped up for everyone.
Spoiler Cami calling Cal dad almost made me cry. Their dad not getting anything made me so happy, how could he choose not to try with his own kids?? Good on grandpa for that one.

Gosh, Lauren Asher never fails to amaze me with her characters and their story. Following the Kane brothers through Dreamland and their journeys, I'm so sad that its over! Saving Cal till the end was a great choice. I think he had the most personal growth that was needed, and he pushed himself to be a better man. Not just for Alana, but for himself.

The end was so worth it.in love with the epilogue. This book was everything any reader would want in a book. Truely an emotional roller coaster. A journey I was proud to be on. Like Lauren states at the end it’s bittersweet to see the series go. With that in mind I’ll definitely cry later.
