I ended up enjoying this much more than I thought I would at the beginning. Alex starts off seeming just super impulsive, and although it is more a part of her character and personality, she somewhat levels out where at least her impulses start to make sense. Not sure how I feel about this world though. The prejudices and the way it sounds like pure bloods treat women is...a lot.

I have read over 15 books by Armentrout this year. This one surprised me.

Why? Because I didn't expect it to be so YA! It's listed as YA and it's well written as a YA book. I'm just so used to her adult work that this one threw me off. It felt whiny and immature compared to her other work. Honestly, I find the heroine obnoxious as hell and I don't like that she didn't have much of a character arc, HOWEVER I am 100% invested in the plot and I -need- to know what happens next. I'm super curious what's going to happen regarding Aiden and Seth too. There are so many ways I can imagine this going and I'm dying to know what Armentrout's incredible imagination came up with.
