Starts out slow, builds into a good police chase, and ends with some really great twists that made me throw the book down.

Short, sharp and right between the eyes. I loved the twists and turns, and didn't see the denouements coming. This was my first foray into Patterson's Bookshots - it won't be my last!

The Heist is a fast-paced story of three people who plan a robbery with the common purpose of paying for the medical treatment of a loved one.
However, their plans are derailed when a group of men choose the exact same time to carry out their heist.
A detective on the verge of retirement takes up the case and gets entangled in it with disastrous circumstances.
.
The thriller gets quite intense towards the end but feels somewhat rushed.
.
This book is a #bookshot in the sense that it tells a complete story in very few pages like 120/150.
.
Very easy to read on the go and can be finished in a single sitting.

The only James Patterson books I've read are well his Maxium Ride books (namely the first three mangas so to speak) anyway, I came across a whole section in one of my local bookstores anyway I was curious so I bought it also it was dirt cheap too!

Anyway Heist follows the ones who commit the crime and a retiring detective who takes up the case and we get a fairly short story that concludes rather well actually and the epilogue was pretty good too and well I opted for reading Heist in two days because of how long it was, anyway Heist is quick read but it did keep my attention though and I will be looking into getting more of these short stories they're a fun read.

A summery for Heist:

Three thieves have planned the perfect diamond heist. They’ve monitored the Hatton Garden jeweller for months and are ready to make the hit. But they were not expecting a rival crew to show up at exactly the same time.

After a bloody fight, the three thieves come away with the diamonds and set off to meet their buyer in Amsterdam. But now it’s not only the police who are chasing them, and not only the diamonds that are at stake.

Less inclined to say I love this one. It was good. It all seemed much more rushed than the others though, which made the story feel a bit mashed together if that makes sense?! As a full length novel though, this would have great potential to expand characters and the plot. Enjoyable nonetheless!
